    Default Unresolved Xrefs

    Hi All,

Have a bit if a problem with xrefs. Since upgrading a couple of seats to 2007 they will often list some (not all) of the xrefs within a drawing as "unresolved". The xref then needs reloading but after saving and the opening again is still not visible and still listed in the manager as "unresolved". However, if I open the drawing in 2006 the xref loads correctly. As you can imagine this is extremely frustrating so if anyone can shed some light on this I'd be extremely grateful.

    Thanks,

    Trev.

If you open each of the xrefs within 2007 and save them, it will allow them to load in the original dwg. The xref's need to be updated to 2007 and once you open and save them, they will be.

It has been this was since 2006 was introduced - if you opened 2005 dwgs with xrefs in 2006, you had to do the same thing.

Don't kill the messenger, treb. I was trying to be of assistance to you.

no shooting the messenger! and thanx.

the company I work for is still stuck in 2004, so we havent encounter this problem.

but when we do switch, I wil hire a college student to convert everything.

I've never had this problem. I still have users that are using different versions with no problems of unresolved xrefs.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

If you are using 04 then you may want to prepare to batch convert any blocks you may use based on INSUNITS...

    Hi

Please explain, seeing as AutoCAD 2004, 2005 and 2006 all shared the same DWG format.

Sorry, I am with Richard on this one.

    Have a good one, Mike

    Unhappy Re: Unresolved Xrefs

Before this runs off on a tangent I've tried saving the xref file in 2007 format as well and it's made no difference whatsoever...............

    Save Path
    OR
    Relative Path
