Map 3D 2006 - Open drawing, but not seeing dwg

I have an existing drawing that when I open it I see it while it's opening for a few seconds, but when it complete the drawing is not there. I look at the path in the upper left corner the path is correct with one thing difference, which states:
pioneer.dwg:1

I am using Autodesk Map 3D 2006

I know I must have done something to this drawing, but I don't what?
Can any one help?

I'm not sure what the ':1' is that you've got listed at the end there... is it possible that the extension got renamed?

1. Double check with the layers. They might have been TURN OFF or FREE.
2. Try select all the entities then change the colour.
3. Try to ZOOM ALL, it may be out there somewhere (miles away)
4. Maybe the file name which you imported in, seem a bit odd with extension " .dwg:1"

I would like to add :
5. Check whether file is corrupted or not. If it is corrupted then after opening the file look into the text box.

Just on the ".dwg:1" thing. If you open up the same drawing more than once in the same AutoCAD window it puts a :1, :2, :3 etc. at the end of the filename.
Don't know what your problem is unless you're zoomed out too far or maybe zoomed in too far.

Among the other suggestions, maybe this drawing is missing one or more external references, shape files, and/or images?

Press F2 after the drawing is opened and check for any error messages.

Check your settings for PROXYSHOW and PROXYNOTICE if the drawing was created in another application.

Run FILTER > blocks and choose to select ALL or in fact most entities as this will reveal any references in the drawing even if you cant see them. This is particularly useful for blank block entities.

I found the problem, when you open Autodesk Map 3D 2006, the Display Manager's dialog box opens also, and there is a box that needs to have a check in it, it's call MAP BASE, if the MAP BASE box is not check the dwg will open but you won't see it.
