This is merely a matter of curiuosity as to whether people place notes in the views that they want to point out specific information OR if you place a number reference to a note on a note sheet or notes column.

Place all notes in applicable views
Place key notes in applicable views and rest in notes area
Place a number key by what you are noting referencing a specific note on sheet
Do not note anything leaving it up to contractor

Might this change when R9 keynotes come in?
We will see want we? Maybe I will run the same poll again after R9 release to see who is using the keynotes feature.
WOOP WOOP WOOP <=== 1000th post
We always put notes in views (for wall sections and details). I can't stand looking at a section, seeing an object or material being called out as a number, and then I have to go over to the key on the sheet to determine what that number is. That is such a royal pain, and as far as I know contractors don't care for it, either.
We use keynotes in plan views, but we still place them on in the view, not on the sheet.
That actually is what started this poll. I had a contractor say that there were too many notes on the views and even on the sheet and he would prefer that the notes be numbered and referenced. I thought that this was odd since the framer will get the plan views and the finish carpenter will get the sections and other applicable details. In other words he will not give any one person a complete set of plans. I feel it is best to not all major details in the view of importance and minor details in notes at the bottom or side of the sheet with the same views.Originally Posted by patricks
Sorry, I probably should have expanded. We currently do it like we used to in acad I suppose, which is to use the legend method on "paperspace". We also annotate drawings per view, on the view. What I meant was the whole keynote thing, if I understand it correctly will allow more on the view noting, with the across the board updating of a legend. So it will be interesting to see what comes of it.
