2007 network deployment error

When tiring to create a deployment image for VIZ 2007, I get the following error:

Deployment Wizard
Unable to load DLL.
D:\Bin|VIZFeui\support\AdNIW\dlls\acadres.dll

This happens if I run from the installed Deployment Wizard or from the VIZ DVD.

Any ideas?

You're lucky. I don't have VIZ 2007 yet. And I work for a reseller....

I found this snippet on Autodesk's website:

VIZ does not support the use of the Network Installation wizard. For information on deploying VIZ to multiple workstations, please review the Network Installation Guide accessed from the Network Deployment tab....

Do you know if they now support the deployment wizard with VIZ 2007?

That is news to me. We created a deployment image for VIZ 2006 and did network installs. We never had a problem last year. Also the option is there on the auto run install menu for VIZ 2007 also!

This afternoon I will look at the 2006 CD/DVD and see if the same DLL file can be found on that disk. I was able to find the DLL file in every 2006 and 2007 product install on my C:\ drive for ADT, ABS, ACAD and VIZ 2006.

I'm not sure about VIZ (because we don't have it yet), but for 3Dmax (I forget what version, 7 or I ended up writing a script to do the install. I was just wondering if it is the same for VIZ.

Tim,

The creating of the deployment image on the server should be very similar to the ones for Autocad or ADT. Typically after creating the deployment image and then doing a network install, we then copy any textures, RPC and other content locally that may be used in rendering.

The missing DLL file from the VIZ 2007 DVD can be found on the VIZ 2006 or Autocad 2007 CDs, but they appear to be different.

Still don’t know how to fix this one.

I am getting the same error.

I wish it would give you a way to navigate to the file somewhere else instead of just closing the deployment wizard.

I made a help request at the subscription site, but the new deployment wizard that they pointed me to does not help. I agree, it would be nice if you could point the install to the file that it is looking for, but the file is not on the DVD.

At least someone else here is having the same error, welcome to the boat!

Anyone have a fix?

Maybe when the CD version comes in it will work.

What is the boat capacity?
I tried the same things you did and Nada.Problem has been escalated, so some poor slob is probably working this weekend on a fix.
