    Default landing without another run

i'm attempting to get a landing done at the top of a set of stairs, it's a small run of 6-7 treads. i know revit does landings right away if you create another run, but i need one at the top.

Also, how do i control the railing placement to be open at the side of the landing and closed at the end? (so that the door is on the side of the landing and not what you'd see on your way up the stairs)

i hate being a noobie at this stuff..

    EDIT:

i've figured out to stretch one stair, but then my stringer goes up on a wonky angle as if there was another step to come.. i'm attempting to get this resolved but having a hell of atime.

    so, i'm closer.
but i can't figure out how to get my landing to go out sideways to attach to the building. i put a boundary and a riser line outwards but it spits out an error..

Attached is an example...pay close attention to the sketch lines of the stair and railing. Their Flat/Slope setting is altered. Also look closely at the stair properties.

Hey! I never saw that Flat/Slope thing before! That's exactly what I was looking for before.

The way I had done it was to create a separate floor and floor edge to replicate the landing and stringer (and I just didn't worry them not cleaning up).

    Thanks for that!
