Question Hatch Boundary deletes if Hatch Pattern is deleted

    Hi,
A co-worker's new installation has his hatch and its boundary becoming the one entity i.e. if he deletes the boundary (a polyline) the hatch is deleted also.......Memory failing here but I was sure there was a location in options or a system variable that turned this off.... can anyone tell me where or what it is?

    Associative Hatching is switched on.
It can be changed in Tools\Options\Selection - bottom left corner (in A2006 at least).
Or in the Bhatch dialogue box under Options.

Just set PICKSTYLE to the appropriate value. This will allow you to delete the boundary or hatch independent of the other.

No need to turn off associative hatching unless you truly want all hatch objects to not be associative.
