View Names and Elevation Names not the same.

During the initial layout phase, it wasn't important to have the different levels identified in the floor plan views. It was a big mistake. I am now trying to to have the plan view plans to match the name of the levels in section and elevation view. When I rename the plan view name it doesn't update the section or the elevation name. When I try to change the section or elevation level name to match the plan view name, a message says the name already exists. Please advice how to update the level names to match the plan view names.

Chances are you have a bunch of duplicated views.

Go to the view properties of the plan view in question. Near the bottom of the dialog will be a field called associated view. Whatever view shows there is the parent view of your duplicated view. The parent's name will show in the elevation & section level tags.
