Try the "Getting Started Guide" included in the CD, and then the new Tutorials revised for Revit Structure 3.
Any way to get a Revit chip implanted in my head to help speed up the process?
I'm sort of an advanced AutoCAD user- what would you recommend I "unlearn" to get my head around Revit better? Please note, I do NOT want to surrender my AutoCAD skills, just supplement my skillset with Revitese.
Hi,
Maybe not "unlearning" but be open to approaching projects in a new way. You will find that you do a lot more work in the initial phases of the project because the model has to reach a certain level of completion to have enough integrity to be useful.
I started by doing the tutorials. They are actually a good overview of what you can expect, and are very well written. Then maybe you can think about doing a pilot project.
As far as augmenting Autocad with Revit you might want to use Revit to prepare the intial model through DD then export the project to Autocad to complete CD's. A lot of people do that.
I used a gradual proecess over many projects, using both Autocad and Revit. If I got into too much difficulty that was my fall back: export it out to Autocad.
I hope that helps.
