Unhappy Copy (ctr-c) & Paste (ctr-v) would stop working in AutoCAD

Can anyone tell me why my Copy (ctr-c) & Paste (ctr-v) would stop working in AutoCAD?

It'll work in all the other Window XP Applications.

When I try to paste something I get the message:

"Can not be invoked transparently" or some thing like that

Are you trying to do this during a command?

What type of information are you pasting?

Are you trying to paste it to the command line?
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

    Whats your Acad Version?

Was it working previously and just stopped?

Have you made any system changes recently?

You might want to try a repair. I have had problems in the past with registry keys getting changed by things like Norton and a repair has fixed the problem.

Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> AutoCAD 200x -> Change -> Reinstall or Repair AutoCAD 200x

    Hi Tom

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the CAD Mgmt. General forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

There is an issue with 2007 drawings not allowing copy and paste functions when saved to earlier versions, I have reported this to Autodesk support, but there is not solution as of yet except for the dxf one.

Not ideal and in my opinion this shows Autodesk in a bad light.

The version of AutoCAD is 2002, and it was working up until a few weeks ago. I've been working around it the best I could. Thought I'd look for some advice before doing an uninstall/reinstall.

    What it's not doing is:

Using CTRL-C or COPYCLIP command, it will not allow me to copy items (text or drawing objects) from one drawing to another,

If it's not your drawing, chances are it may have been created by AutoCAD 2007, and then your copy and past functions wouldn't work anyway.

they are looking at the problem, but with this being so major, i'd expect to see a patch come out soon for this one, doesn't help those with the problem at the moment though.
