    Post Window Tags - Labelling

    Hi folks.

We use numbers for doors and letters for windows. How can I change the property set in the window tag to use letters instead of numbers please?

    Thank you!

    Marv

The your window "ID" property's Type is likely set to "Auto Increment - Integer". Change the Type to "Text" (and, possibly, the Format to "Case - Upper" if you want to force upper case text).

Under the Documentation drop down select Scheduling and then Property set definitions.
In the dialogue box that appears select window objects and then do as David has said above.

There is an Auto Increment - Character Type. I have never used in for production work, so I can not say if there are any issues associated with it.

Hmmmm....I've tried it. It isn't working. (Isn't incrementing).

    Thanks!

I've just tried setting the following:

    Type - Auto Increment -Character
    Default - A
    Format - Upper case

and that works for me, I don't believe it will update tags already inseted but only effects newly added tags.

Or is this what you have already tried and isn't working for you?

I will try testing this over the weekend, if I remember. What version are you using?

Note also that my experience has been that if you change the type associated with a property in a file that already has that property in use [specifically room numbers, but I believe the effect extends beyond that], you will lose the data already in place. I know this happens when changing from Auto Increment - Integer to Text.

where is the "Documentation" drop down menu on Revit 8.1 ?
I am trying to get my tags to read in sequential order, 1, 2, 3, etc

That would probably best be asked in one of the Revit forums. You have wandered into the ADT forums.
