Re: FM New to MAP
Right about Map and SSM not playing well together and they need a lot of work to do what we think it should. That's one reason I'm not to upset about losing the class. It would of took a lot of work to get it ironed out and a good days worth of LABS to demo it so others could learn.

Re: FM New to MAP
Sound like a cool concept. Maybe you should add this to the Map wish list. Need to get more items in there, or there might not be any update in the next version

Re: FM New to MAP
Glen,
It would be a cool concept, to actualy ensure that a
NEW tool like sheet set manager would work with the
OLD tool (Plot Map Set).
The reason I do not add to any whish lists items;
I have not seen AutoDesk do much towards making those
items a reality, and when they do include them in a 'new' release
there is still way too many functions that don't work or should
have been fixed in the 'old' version before they sell me my ideas
as new features.
Again I invite AutoDesk to pay me to help them improve their product
that through years of use, and interaction with students in classes
would add measurably to it's ease of use and functionality.
This might be a small measure towards compensating for the lost
productivy due to use of a product with known defects.
And every time I read this DISCLAIMER I have to laugh,
first at AutoDesk, and then at mayself

Re: FM New to MAP
Just as we suspected SSM doesn't work well with MAP.
And today after several days of 'playing' around with it,
turns out that Land Desktop doesn't or can't use Layer Keys!

I just have to wonder what are the programmers at AutoDesk thinking
when they incorporate various tools into the vertical products
that simply do not work within those products? This must make
for some interesting class room sessions where some instructor attempts
to apply or teach these elements to a class full of eager students
and they don't work as advertised.
I'll let you know in a few days if I have similar success attempting to apply
SSM to Sheet Manager within the Civil Design module of Land Desktop.
Let's just hope I don't become even crazier in the process!
