Default Real-time Pan with mouse-wheel, pans in joystick style

This will probably get moved but...

A coworker just started with us and is used to panning realtime with her mousewheel. But when she tries to do that she ends up panning joystick style. I don't know how to customize the mouse wheel in CAD, can anyone help me?

    try MBUTTONPAN = 1
Give people a job worth doing, the tools to do it, recognition of a job well done & get out of the way.

I'd help you, but Ken hasn't covered that in a class yet.

You have to appreciate the irony, that is one of the "common problems" that I'm covering in the next segment.

    Leave it to Vicky.

It's not MBUTTONPAN, I think it has something to do with the mouse drivers & could be a setting in control panel

That was my first thought too...I tried it, but it didn't work. Something just occured to me though. The user who had this computer before used a track ball. So this mouse is new and maybe wasn't set up...

Yes, with Logitech mice. The newest software the correct setting is, "Middle Button" for panning. On slightly older ones it was setting it to "universal scroll" and checking the box for use as MS Office compatible.

Mbuttonpan must also be set to (1).

Set Scroll wheel (forget Autoscroll, and Universal Scroll), to "Other" and then set it to "Middle Button". That will allow you to use it to pan when the wheel is depressed and zoom when the wheel is rotated.

It may be common...but I've never had it before! I tried fixing her mouse via control panel, but after reading the thread you linked I'm going to try setting it to "middle button" Hopefully that works. Wish me luck!!

Can't wait for your next class!!!
