    Default Rigid Insulation Hatch Pattern

Within, say, the 2 1/2" Rigid insulation family, I don't like where the hatch pattern is located (yes I'm an anal architect).

In AutoCAD, I have the snapbase setvar to allow me to relocate the hatch pattern origin point.

Is there any way to adjust the hatch pattern in a filled region in Revit?

    (Fingers crossed hoping)

Using Move from the toolbar, hover over one line in the hatch, and hit TAB until it highlights the one line, then click to select. Then click to set basepoint, and second click to relocate basepoint to new point. This will move the hatch pattern to the new location. (only works with Model patterns, not Drafting Patterns)

Not much use for insulation hatching then is it?

I've turned off insulation hatch in all my details and drawn over with the insulation line tool.

Hmmmm....my thought exactly but Scott tried.
So again, no way to do this in Revit.

    Sheez come on guys.

Cool package, great stuff and all that, but some simple things would make our lives even easier: a way to CAPITALIZE text, a text insertion snap point, the ability to add line pattern components to walls for fire ratings, and this, the ability to adjust hatch patterns. Yes, it's great having all the other things in here, but we keep tripping over simple stuff like this.

Typically Rigid Insulation and Batt Insulation are two completly different patterns. Rigid is shown (typically, maybe yours is different?) by a small crosshatch 90 degree pattern, which should work for what Reid is trying to do.

I need to be able to adjust the pattern origin location so the hatching is say evenly spaced within the element or region, not just randomly located.

In AutoCAD you simply relocate the SNAPBASE point or in new releases use the Origin adjust button in the Hatch dialog box. There's a way to do this in MicroStation too, though I've forgotten how.

Doesn't seem to be a way to do this in Revit. It is important only from need to create an "aesthetically pleasing" set of contract documents. But a set of drawings that look like, well I won't say, doesn't help me sell the product.

Sounds like an item for the wishlist - either relocatable base points for drafting patterns, or the ability to use model patterns as the "cut pattern" for a material.
