Walls below 2000mm or 6 feet - will not display fine detail in plan when the cut plane goes though them. This is a feature of revit that has deliberatley been added??? it feels far more like a bug, I can control the detail of wall types by view now, this feature HAS to go, it is bad!! - (and I have a set of drawings that are pretty useless till it goes so hurry please!)

Instead of using explicit for wall height for your 6 foot wall just keep the base constraint the same (t.o. subfloor) and then set the top constraint to the same level (t.o. subfloor) and then change the top offset to 6 feet and then click OK and that wall give you what your looking for as far as detail level goes. I don't even use the explicit for any walls due to the problem you speak of.

How about the ability to turn this feature on or off and control what the "magic" height is?

I don't see the issue here - in any detail level, Revit shows 6' high walls as cut.

I have a model with walls 2000mm high (about 5') and it refuses to show tham as cut until I put them over 6' ?? it is not something I had noticed before either, but Chris Mahoney pointed out this low wall thing?

I'm with Chris Y on this one - and for my part I don't think the low wall feature should be killed. A wall that doesn't go to the ceiling should be shown with a lighter lineweight - on most projects that I can think of, this is exactly how I would want the walls to display.

And if you must have low walls showing as cut, you can force them to display that way as Chris has pointed out.

It just goes to show the amount of thought that has been put into this software!

I should point out that this behavior only applies to walls that have their height set explicitly. Walls whose tops are constrained to levels are shown cut in plan regardless of their height, with one provision, they have to be taller than the cut plane.

Hmmm... maybe I take this wish back. If it is only applied to explicit wall heights, then it does not create a problem really, I can fix my files. maybe I should change to letting you choose the height of a low all?
