Default CUI XTransfer of Slide Libraries (SLB)

After going through the CUI XTransfer process (MNU to CUI), I do not get my slides to show in a blank SlideLibrary (5 x 5 white boxes in a white rectangle)? Where is the customization information to accomplish this process (SLB, slide libraries)?

I note that the new CUI file does not contain any XML image lines for my old SLB files that are in the 2002 (correction) MNS file.

Please do not tell me that ACAD 2006 does not include display of slide libraries (which I depend upon to insert blocks)!

Slide libraries are supported in 2006; however, Autodesk has stated that slide libraries will not be supported in future releases. I believe this is stated in the help some where.

I can not help you with the slide libraries but I know I have seen several posts on the forum regarding this subject.

Based on Autodesk's statement I would recommend moving your block libraries to the tool palette for future compatibility.

Slide libraries work fine in 2006. If you are getting blank tiles, it might be that the cui migration could not find the slide files. Make sure the slide files are located on the search path, and close AutoCAD. Delete the .mnr file, thne restart AutoCAD.

Can one of the Moderators verify if the slide libraries are going to be unsupported in future releases of AutoCAD??

    Hi

    Afraid not.

Why? - Only Autodesk themselves can give a definitive answer on, if and when Slide Libraries might become unsupported in a future release of AutoCAD.

For anybody else to give a definitive answer would entail some guesswork.

    Have a good one, Mike

    My apologies.

I got slide libraries confused with screen menus.

The quote from the AutoCAD 2006 Customization Guide is:

"Note Future releases of the product will not support screen menus."

By screen menu, do you mean drop down menus?

No. Screen menus are different then pull-down menus. I have not used screen menus much so I could not describe them well. You can find information about screen menus in the AutoCAD help.

The "screen" menu is the (original) text-based menu which runs down the right-hand side of the screen. There have been several releases since AutoDesk first stated that it would (one day) be dropped.
