Default How to make brick wall w stone belt course? ADT2007

I can make a brick wall, with a brick belt course projecting 2" at 24" high using a a sweep, but how do I get just that course to be stone, with brick above and below?

FWIW, I also want to make a version with a stone wainscot.

Thanks for any help in advance.

You will need to stack three components for the wall style with Brick-Stone-Brick. Run the lower brick from baseline or wall bottom, to 2'-0" above the base line, assuming that your baseline is at the floor elevation and the 24" dimension you gave is relative to that. Then create your stone component, using the same offsets, with the bottom 2'-0" above the baseline and the top 2'-0" + the stone height above the baseline. [If it is a square projection, offset the exterior side of the component the additional 2" and avoid the sweep. This will have an impact on doors and windows and how they center in the wall on initial placement, so you may want to experiment with this and see if keeping the sweep is the better way to go or not.] Finally, add the third brick component, starting at the top of stone dimension above the baseline, to wall top.

You could do the same for the stone wainscot style, chaning the material of the first component, or you could combine the first two components, using a sweep to get the projection.

would you be able to post want you have done, would be intrested in seeing what you have done.

On a job im doing ive created a wall style where we have to build a traditional cavity wall with a face of stone applied to the outer leaf.

But my question is once you have "stacked" the wall styles on each other how dose it look on plan view?

I believe it depends on where you set the cut plane. If you are cutting through brick, that's what you'd see, if your are cutting through the stud above, that's what you see.

as requested. I have developed it much more since this version but here is the basic wall. In plan view you can see the stone edges as well as the masonry.

I created this wall for a library project. I think it models great, but as can be seen, my problem is getting decent working plans from the same wall. The water table should show as another line in plan when I cut the wall, and if the cut is above the wall, extra lines appear all over the place (even the end cap lines show through). Is there some display setting that can be adjusted for this? I also had conditions where this wall sloped, but the coping stone can’t be made to slope with it – I had to create the coping with a separate mass element.
