Smile When I select Objects to delete, then Zoom it misses some

When I select some text to delete, I zoom in to an area to better see where I am at and I hit my delete key, not all of the text is deleted. It seems that when I zoom in I do not select all the text to delete. This has also happened on Polylines and most everything else. It doesn't happen all the time, but most of the time it does.

Very irritating. I have attached a screen capture video so you can see what I am doing.

    Thanks

Someone may have a more technical reason, but AutoCAD has always done this. If the program can't "see" on the screen what it's editing/deleting, then it won't do it. When I have to zoom into an area to select things better, I'll then zoom back out so that the command executes correctly.

I've never seen that happen. I'll check to see if there's anything in the options box that might deal with that.

Cool Re: When I select Objects to delete, then Zoom it misses some

this is behaviour as designed. to prevent people from accidentally deleting things that they've unknowingly selected. there is no sys var to change the behaviour.

But mine will delete anything that is selected. I just tried it. I've had images disappear because the frame was selected when I zoomed in & didn't notice until Raster Design asked if I wanted to detach the image.

Makes me think there's a sysvar involved, but now we just have to find it. I couldn't find anything in the options that remotely looks like the culprit.

    Hi Father-of-Ten,

I think THIS is what you are running into.

Apparently you can't zoom while creating a crossing window and have the entities outside of the view remain in the selection.

    Have a nice day
