Default Text is too small in Mtext editor

When editing mtext using the new mtext editor the text appears to small. I know when I edit really small mtext, the mtext editor will enlarge if it is to small. Is there a way to tell the mtext editor to enlarge text up to a certain size?

I know I can zoom in with mouse wheel.

When you first type your command in, you'll notice you have several options on your command line......one is height.....just set the number there.

There could be another possibility.... The height of the tsxt could be limited due to a hy-scale or small units scene...
Therefor, I recommend scaling the mtext as any other object....

I think what you are referring to is what is quoted below from the help file, right?

Note Text that would otherwise be difficult to read (if it is very small, very large, or is rotated) is displayed at a legible size and is oriented horizontally so that you can easily read and edit it.
If so, I am not sure there is a way to change what parameters AutoCAD uses to judge whether the text should be resized in the editor.

I didn't find any system variables or anything to adjust the size, but the default size does seem a little small (either that, or I need glasses ).

Not to cause more work for you BrenBren, but it looks like this may be a wish list item to me.

Edit: It seems like they could have tied it to the command line font size, but didn't.

I agree, it should probably be submitted by someone

    OK, you asked for it

But how the heck am I going to word this? I don't even know what they call that functionality. Oh well, I'll do my best.

Wasn't there an option, variable or whatever, all the way back in the early 2000's (2000i, 2004) that would set how the mtext editor works/looks? For example, I'm pretty sure at one time that I set mine to always graphically show the text a uniform (read: readable) size and to pop up in the same spot, like the middle of the screen, not relative to the actual location of the text (unless I dragged it somewhere mid-edit).
And I thought they had fixed the whole vertical text in the mtext editor, which was an unpopular feature introduced in 2006. The work-around was changing back to the old editor, but that gets rid of the actual good features in the new editor.
I hear some of the 3-D features are good, but as a primarily 2-d user, I must say, I'm very disappointed overall with 2007 so far.

I haven't tested it in 2007, but in the past versions you could hold down the control key, and roll your mouse wheel to zoom the appearance of the text in the editor.

Or just zoom into the drawing a bit more before editing the text. In 2007, the editor is supposed to display the text exactly as it is in the drawing.

    edit:
Sorry, just read your last line. However, upon testing, 2007 just shows the text exactly as it is in the drawing, and you can simply zoom in and out like you normally do (without holding the ctrl key). I'm not really sure how to make it appear larger other than to just zoom into it.
