    Default FILL PATTERN FILE LOCATION

Can anyone tell me where revit keeps the fill pattern files? I am creating a new family that needs to have a brick pattern, but the standard brick pattern is not on the list. How can I go about finding it and loading it into the family?

    Thanks for the help.

They are project base. You can load a .pat file if you need.

Where is the standard brick.pat file that comes with revit stored?

    Thanks.

should be in your revit.pat file in c:\program files\autodesk revit building 9\data

it is a definition within a file rather than a separate file.

i found the location and learned how to deal with editing and creating them, but my problem is i cant find the "Gypsum-Plaster" fill patter to edit. i need to change it to a model type instead of a drafting type. any help is greatly appreciated.

Is it a standard pattern or an import?

Posting a sample may help identification.

I think it just uses the 'sand' pattern. You might just want to copy/paste the sand pattern from your .pat file and rename it Gypsum-plaster and use that.

Dimitri.... I believe that you are right and that Gypsum is based on the 'Sand Pattern'

Sand does not seem to be the right type. I found that AutoCAD has a better match listed as General_Texture.pat
it can be found in the relative folder, depending on your user setup: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ACA 2012\enu\Support\pats
I saved a .pat file on my website click on technical drawings, scroll to the bottom of the page, then right click the file like titled Gypsum-Plaster.pat and then Save Target As...
or you can write the following in notebook to make your own .pat file

    *Gypsum-Plaster, Gypsum-Plaster
