Default Casework Families' Geometries Don't Join

Why is that? Two in-place families. Generic families do. Wall families do, etc. You can go back and change Casework families to Generic and THEN they do. I know you can use linework to fix it, but why is that neccessary? Also, I was looking at it from a material takeoff aspect, whose details I don't need to go into. I guess it's a bug or as they say "limitation"?

    Mr. Narlee,

Thank you for choosing Autodesk Subscription.

I contacted our development team to identify if this is a limitation on Revit Building. It seems to be that only elements of some categories can be joined. Using the default Revit Building template, these are the categories that can be joined:

    Ceilings
    Columns
    Floors
    Generic Models
    Mass
    Roofs
    Structural Columns
    Structural Foundations
    Structural Framing
    Walls

Change the current category of your in-place family element to one of the categories above, and you should be able to join them.

Please let me know if you need additional assistance with this issue. Feel free to reply to this email if you would like to provide an update.

    Best Regards,
