Hi, I use polylines to tally areas of floorplans and wanted to know if there is a way to select multiple Plines and get an area total. I dont think there is, but it would be nice if there were such a command.

Sure, grab POLYAREA.LSP from http://www.turvill.com/t2/free_stuff/index.htm

Thanks for the directioni guy's....I tried both suggestions and felt like POLYAREA.LSP was the better app to use. Thanks again.
Don't forget about the tried and true, AREA command..... or change all the closed polylines into regions with the REGION command and then select all and run a MASSPROP command to get the cumulative area.
p.s. I'm running AutoCAD 2005 with Land Desktop
polyarea is alot quicker than what you are describing....but thanks anyway.
