    Brother John, I always thought of it as an Austrailian expression as well. My brother spent two years in Austrailia and came back saying it constantly.

    Brother Ammon - Hello, good to see you.

    Britain seems to acquired the expression through tv shows (soaps) Home and Away and Neighbours. ~shrugs~ It's a good expression.
