Default Purlin display on ceiling plan

I have ceiling plan with exposed purlins that follow a sloping ceiling above. On the ceiling plan, the purlins only show as a single line instead of the tilted 3D beam I was hoping for. Is there a way for the purlins (or beams, etc...) to display in full 3D?

    Thanks
