I am new to the AUGI but not to Autocad (user since version 2.5). I just wanted to thank you for creating something and making it available to other ADT users.
I don't know if this is appropriate, but I started the SEAINT Listservice when I was Chair of the Computer Applications Committee for SEA of Southern California with the few committee members we had and the present chair who works for BQE Engineering and Software in Lomita CA. I created a freeware spreadsheet in California for the 97 UBC and am currently updating it for the 2006 IBC that California will see in the early part of 2008. Anyone interested in participating in our BETA group is invited to contact me - this will be placed into public Domain as I believe strongly that if we have the ability to create tools that others can benefit from, you are welcome to them.
I very much appreciate others who carry on this philosophy and will be happy to let you know where it can be downloaded if you note my member information to AUGI and keep in contact with me. There is no catch, you don't have to help beta test and when all the problems are worked out, you will be able to design light frame structures for wind and seismic distribution and the spreadsheet will be available in the public domaine
Hello Dennis;
I heard of your SEAINT Listservice group from one of my group members (Vish).
I never did look into your group; but would like to check it out.
Can you give me some information on how to join?
I'm not sure if you ever heard of the group I created.
http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/MiscIron-Detail/
It's dedicated to the misc iron detailer, going on 4 years now, has over 580 members and over 8200 postings. The group is quite active and I hope you can come and join.
I would like to see what you have developed when you finish it. Please keep me posted.
After I download these (As I have done) what then? Do I copy them to directory somewhere?
I would put them in the same location as the rest of your tools. ie inside the content browser.
Edit,
Opps my bad. I forgot which set of tools this thread was.
You want to put these is with your styles library.
OK Here Is what i did to install
1. Unzip the file to your desktop
2. Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\ACD-A 2009\enu\Tool Catalogs
3. Copy and paste the '3D Structural Framing Members' to the folder
4. Open up ACA 2009
5. Go to 'Content Browser'
6. Click on the 'Add new catalog' icon at the bottom left hand corner of the Content Browser
7. Select 'Addan existing catalog or web site'
8. Click browse and navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\ACD-A 2009\enu\Tool Catalogs\3D Structural Framing Members\Catalogs and select '3D Structural Members (Imperial).atc'
9. Click 'Open'
10. Click 'OK'
11. Catalog has been added to content browser. To add content to tool palette, simply drag and drop to the Tool Palette from Content Browser.
However I got the attached errors when trying to use them from my pallet >>>>>>>see attached<<<<<<<<
You need to copy the style drawings into your style folder like David mentioned.
I could use some help here. I've got the joist in my Content Browser. How do I get them into a pallete so I can use the data content?
Thanks for 3D Structural Member Catalog
