Question How do you turn off parcels?

I can not seem to figure out how to turn parcels completely off while maintaining the labels for lines, curves and parcels. Now I can get the opposite to happen, label layers to freeze or not plot. I've been looking for the setting or style that was creating the layers dependencies, maybe the command itself but have not found it
I'm trying to have a phantom r/w line while the remainder of the parcels would have a solid line type, even a different color if possible. At the same time have some sheet layouts showing parcel text and B&D, while others show only parcel text.

It sounds like your styles for the parcel are set up to show them all as one linetype. Which version of Civil3D are you using?

07, I found a thread on autodesks C3D forum, that explained how the display was determined by the order of the parcel styles. I think this will solve my problems, I have just started using what I read this morning. Is there anything you could ad to this?

Yes, it sounds like the display order for parcels will really help you accomplish what you are looking for. I wanted to add that with the 2007 version you can also add labels to lines and curves, meaning that you don't have to have Parcel objects in order to have the bearings and distances labeled. You can do this by going to your General pull-down menu -->Add Labels and select Line and Curve as your feature.

If that thread doesn't help you accomplish your goal please let me know and I will be more than happy to help you!

I was already wondering if I would be able to do more like I'm trying to do be using the labels as you are suggesting. And I'm still having having trouble with the parcels lines showing through or even fading out the other lines when I turned the layer to a extremely light pen, it never completely went away. I do have three site and the parcels are not all on the same one and the three styles I'm using are only showing up in site one site, altogether. The other two site each show only one.

I finally had some better luck getting my plots to look correctly, I tried so many things that I'm not sure what was the fix, I believe it was a combination that fixed it. One thing was the display order of not just the styles but the layers also, which I should have fixed sooner. I guess I was too focused on turning the layers off that I over looked the display order?
