    Question Linking Attribute to Text Objects, update Attribute updates all linked Text Objects

    I have a attributed title block that contains a sheet number (as an attribute). When I change the value in that tag, I also want about 40 other pieces of text to also change in the drawing. How do I link the pieces of text so they change automatically when I change the value in my attributed title block? I am sure there is a way to set this up in advance for my whole drawing set. Do I set up the pieces of text as attributes? Possibly use fields? Remote text?

    i'd recommend using the sheet set manager, otherwise, have maybe use fields linked to the page # (staple margin, right?)
    Sometimes, i get lost in my own thoughts and need to ask directions to find my way back.

    Cool Re: Linking Attribute to Text Objects, update Attribute updates all linked Text Objects

    I am really looking for a way to do it in model space. As far as I know sheetsets only work with paper space. I don't think it is possible to convince the engineers this company that paper space is better for what we do.

    Hi

    If your company will not harness the power of new features found in AutoCAD, what is the point of upgrading...

    Either...

    * Use the Sheet Set Manager.
    * Look into using Fields.
    * Look into writing an Application / Routine ( OR search for one OR buying one ) that will accomplish what you are after.

    Have a good one, Mike

    I don't think this is entirely true.
    Have you tried to Chspace the References once you placed them in paperspace?

    question: who does the (most) cad work? drafters or engineers? we used to do all modelspace and had the same mindset. wouldn't go back to MS plotting for the world if it could be helped. the look would (should) be the same, and has sooooo many timesaving features it's actually foolish to ignore sheetset manager, especially if you have no previous PS biases.
