I recently had some problems with AutoCAD 2006 and had to do a clean install to fix the problem. I hoped that after I re-installed the software I could simply re-load the standard company profile and everything would go back the way it was...it didn't.
The a quite a few little things the profile didn't fix, but the biggest one is that when I have multiple session of AutoCAD open, I only see one session in my windows task bar. To switch between the different sessions of AutoCAD I have to go to the AutoCAD 'Window' pull down menu. Before the re-install when I had 2 or 3 drawings open they all showed up as seperate drawings in my windows task bar at the bottom of the screen. I found an option called the 'single drawing interface mode' in the Options dialog. When I check this option on it shows the different sessions in the bottom of my screen like it was before. Only now the close command doesn't work. When I try to use the close command I get an error that says "Close command not allwed in SDI mode". Before the re-install I used the close command all the time, and multiple drawings showed up in my windows task bar. Is there another setting?
