Acad 2004
My system has lost its link to the .pat files.
I can find the files on the C:\ drive but cad can't.
How do you restore this link??
Help doesn't seem to know.
Many thanks
Richard

Add the location to the "Support File Search Path" in the options dialog, under the file tab.
Hi
Is the directory/folder path where the .PAT files (Acad.pat & AcadIso.pat) are located on your "C" drive within the AutoCAD Search Path -
Options -> Files tab -> "Support File Search Path"
If no, add the directory/folder path to your AutoCAD Search Path.
If yes, pass get back to us and I'll see if I can make up something else.
Have a good one, Mike
Thanks
on this system the support files seem to be split between the Acad support directory under programs etc and my document ??
The My docs wasn't set up.
Not having used 2004 is this the correct config?
I should have noticed this to start with...

Hi
Pass, don't use AutoCAD 2004 (or 2005).
From what you've written I get the impression the .PAT files are in the "My Document" directory/folder area and *not* within the AutoCAD directory/folder location, is that correct?
What happens if you set-up "My Document"?
You could just move the .PAT files to the AutoCAD directory/folder location.
Hopefully someone with AutoCAD 2004 or 2005 experience will speak up (hint Glenn).

I get the feeling you want something from me. But it might just be a feeling.Hopefully someone with AutoCAD 2004 or 2005 experience will speak up (hint Glenn).
That it, the files are located in the user profile in windows.
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Autodesk\VERTICALAPP\R16.1\enu\Support (or something like that)
Why, I have no idea. You think that you would want to use the same hatch pattern files for every one else.
I just have a folder on the network with the files in it. So every one can use them.

By far the best approach to take in my very humble opinion.
