    Red face "drawing file not valid"

    I am having a hard time trying to open a dwg file from a client. the client sent the file thru email and also by giving me a copy in a cd but then when i try to open it, a prompt appears saying "drawing file not valid". what seems to be the problem???

    pls. help. tnx.

    Are you using an earlier version of acad than the client? If so, ask the client to "saveas" to the version that you are using or to an even earlier version.

    Or alternatively they could download the following from the Autodesk web site...

    DWG TrueConvert

    &

    DWG TrueView
