Can anyone tell me why I suddenly can't have two drawings open at the same time? Autodesk Map. 2004 Normally I can several drawings open, but now when I try, it closes the first one.

Set your SDI variable to 0.
Just type SDI at the command line.

If you 'accidentally' used a Land Desktop
command in MAP you have 'corrupted' the MAP
profile and it will no longer support MDE mode.
