Disappearing Image in AutoCAD 2007

Hi All:

I have been working on a project in which we have attached an image file to the title block. The project was generated in AutoCAD 2006. The problem I am encountering is that the image does not display automatically. I have to run the image or the imageframe command in order for it to display properly. On some occassions when I run the image command it causes a fatal error and kicks me out of the program. Has anyone encountered this problem and how did you resolve it? By the way, this disappearing image problem is occurring on all of our stations. Oddly, if I open the same drawing in AutoCAD 2006 the image appears OK. Thanks in advance.

No, we are still using AutoCAD 2006. I have not tried opening the drawing in AutoCAD 2007 to see if this continues to be a problem. Thanks.

If you're using 2006, make sure all hot fixes & updates are in place.

We had this problem with drawings created in 2002, but they seem to function properly in 2006. We also noticed that if the drawing was opened in 2002, and only the frame appeared, and then the drawing was plotted, it would plot with the frame only - the image would be missing. However, if we opened the drawing and then invoked the Image Manager, and reloaded the image so that it appeared on the screen, the drawing would plot properly.

have you tried re-loading it from the image manager?
the most comonly errors occuring to images are from images not loaded, partialy loaded or image file link losts... this is possible if you don`t use the right path to the image, the most likely the main reason fo not working on your other stations.
try opening the file containing the block, enter the image manager, select the image attached and included in the block, in the path section click browse, go to the file location and double click it...
after you1ve done this, simply click save path... and then click reload the image from the main image manager window..
the image will apper just like new, not depending of any station..
a good point will be to put the file in the same dir as the file and link it from autocad.. this will create a rtelative path to the image file, just like the relative paths in HTML code..
this is what I generaly do in this specific types of problems, most likely all simmilar to yours.

You mentioned that the image was part of the project title block. Does the failure occur if only one tech has a single copy open, or does it appear after several drawings are opened, by one or several techs?
