Default stacked walls, openings blocking room area

I was having a problem with a stacked exterior wall & an opening in that wall cutting off the room boundary & subsequent room area SF. In the attached file, the ends of the stacked wall (a continuous wall) are circled in green, the cut opening is highlighted in red. The room in cyan was not able to "flow" past the wall opening cut (as well as the circulation hall area).
In a response to another problem, someone pointed out that by scrolling over the stacked wall and hitting the tab key, it will toggle through each wall type that makes up the stacked wall assembly. Then by picking each type individually, going to it's properties, and deselecting "room bounding", the boundary at the cut opening was removed allowing the room to flow past the cut opening. The rooms just below the green circles were then unbound, but adding room separation lines then restored their boundaries.
