Default Automatic Text Numbering in Express Tools

Is there a way to automatically number a set of text when the text string contains letters and spaces? I tried using the auto text numbering tool in express tools but it seems to have limitation unless i'm doing something wrong.

I have 102 dtext entities which I have to number in sequential order. Sheets 1 thru 102. Here's the 1st string:

    109-E07-020 SHT. 1

Any insight on how to do this easily would be great.

    Thanks!

I've used TCOUNT before; just pick the text objects and specify the starting number and increment, then specify whether it should be suffixed, prefixed, overwritten, etc. I think you'd want to suffix... If they're all one above the other, you can just window the text and specify "Y-axis" - you can also specify select order and x-axis.

    Thanks! That worked perfectly.

By any chance, would you or someone know how to take out the space that it automatically includes w/ that suffix part of the command? I have another set of numbers but unfortunately its 1 continuous string like this: 8306129-1

For some reason when I try the command w/ a "-" it only gets the initial set of number. If I can toggle the "space" off from the suffix part, it'll work perfectly.

    Thanks again!

you can do a "find & replace" (not the one in TCOUNT, just from the Edit menu) and in the "find" box, just put a space, and in the replace box, don't put anything. that should remove the spaces added by TCOUNT.

make sure you select just the text you want to change, not the whole drawing
