Question Some object do not retain Display Order

    Hey All,

I've attached a scanned floorplan in to my drawing and have made some markups on it, but when I close and re-open the drawing, some of the objects (polylines) get put behind the image.

I've sent the image to the back (Tools->Display Order->Send to Back), to no avail.

I've sent the geometry to the front (Tools->Display Order->Bring to Front), to no avail.

I've set my VISRETAIN to 1, to no avail.

I know what to do, but the CAD-norants up in Atalanta don't have a clue, and I really don't want to have to do that every time I open this file...

Any ideas on retaining the display order??

    As Always, Thank You,

    Hi

See if the following couple of links offer any help...

    Hi Philip.

Have you tried giving the image a negative z value ?

    Hey Mike,

The first link seemed to be dealing with DrawOrder problems on xrefs, mostly when they are not retaining the order on xrefs. This doesn't seem to work for me since there are no real xrefs, just an attached image.

The second idea seemed to be interlinked to a plotter problem. My drawing plots fine, just displays incorrectly on opening...

    Thanks though,

Interesting - it didn't work, but I found out that all it needs is a regen, you don't have to "send it to the back"...

Are you saying that the only thing you have to do is regen after you open the drawing?

    Yeah....

Seems kinda silly, but I didn't even try that

So why would I have to do a regen right after I opened the drawing? Doesn't it automatically regen when you open it?

One would certainly hope that that's the way it works, but evidently not. It must be a setting or just something that you need to work around, like putting a regen in your acaddoc.lsp (what a pain if you have to work around this). Is regenauto set to "on"? (Of course it is).
