Default MText from AutoCAD 2005 now shows vertical in 2007

    Howdy y'all,

I have a series of single-line diagrams that I drew up before I made the switch to '07. The original, that all of the other diagrams are based on, is from an outside source. Everything worked fine in '05, but now when open one in '07 all of the text shows

    v
    e
    r
    t
    i
    c
    a
    l.
And I can't get it to change. All of the text is Mtext, but there are no grips to adjust. Anyone have any ideas?

Try this; grab the text, go to your properties window, select width and then select the calculator. When the calculator opens, click on the ruler, and then click two points on your screen that are about the width of the text you want. That should give you your grips and let you adjust it that way

If that doesn't work, post the drawing, and let us take a look at it.

I think I found a solution. From your suggestion to go through the Properties dialog box, I switched the direction of the text from horizontal, then back to horizontal again. That caused the text to show horizontal. Next, I use Match Properties to fix the rest. I have to move the text back to where they're supposed to be, but that's not as crucial..

BTW: in the Properties dialog box, the width was set to zero.

I'd be good to know why this happened, but that's not crucial to what I'm doing now.
