How do people make Piles?

There are steel pipe and HP shape pile families available that can be loaded from the Foundations folder in the Imperial Library. There are also generic pile caps available. These all can be edited or duplicated and edited for most scenarios you might need.

you could just create a new structural foundation family and create a solid extrusion with the properties/parameters you need. we have created pile cap families with the required number of piles and they insert just like a spread footing.
i have attached a four pile pile cap as an example.

I am trying to take one of the default pile group families and use a precast pile instead of the pipe or HP piles. I am having trouble with this. I can't get the group to change the pile type. ???
