Default Video board(s) for dual LCDs

I just ordered Dell 2407WFP and Dell 2007FP monitors.

    I would like to use a DVI connection for both at their native resolutions - 1920 x 1200 and 1600 x 1200.

My current computer uses an AGP slot for the video board. I probably will replace the computer in a few months, so I am looking for an interim solution.

My current ATI video board doesn't have 2 DVI connections.

Should I add a second video board to get the second DVI capability or look for a single board with two DVI connections?

A quick look at the NIVDIA website made me wonder if a single board with 2 DVI connections could support the resolutions I want.

Does anyone know about this stuff?

    Thanks for any advice.

No idea how well these work but there are DVi splitter cables around

Price is a lot cheaper than a new card

    Roger,

    Thanks for your reply.

I suspect my current video board won't support two monitors at those resolutions.

I think this is what Roger is referring to:

Yes hadn't seen the Matrox version but the Belkin was about £10- £12.00
at that price could be worth an experiment

    Thank you for your replies.

The Matrox device has VGA connectior and I am seeking to make DVI connections to my monitors.

Also, I would still be limited by the resolutions my current video board will support.

Dual DVI AGP boards are a little more spendy than pci express but there are some that will support the resolutions you're looking for....here's a few

    David,

    Thanks for your reply.

Sometimes it seems impossible to determine from manufacturer's information the resolutions that would be supported on two monitors.
