Default Linked file problem-underlay donesn't work

Please see the attached file:I linked File A to File B, and then in the roof plan of B, I turned on "underlay" but couldn't see anything. It was working in File A.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Hello,

Underlays only work within the host model, since they are associated with the model's levels. To get a linked model to display something other than what is in the view range, you need to override it in Visibility/Graphics. On the Revit Links tab in the VG window click on By Host View, and then select the By linked view radio button and pick the linked view from the drop down list. You can set up a view in your linked model specifically for this purpose with the desired items visible.

    HTH,

    -Jon

    Thank you, Jon.

I tried it and set the roof "transparent" in the linked file and then in the host file i can see the level underneath the roof. Not a very good setup. I hope Revit could improve this later.

So is the conclusion that we can not get underlays to show up in a linked file?
