We are experiencing an annoying issue with our layer pull down that starts off in new drawings in alphabetical order, then changes later. Does anybody know how to get the list of layer to get back to alphabetical again?

What is the number of layers you have in your drawing when it is not sorted anymore? Have you seen the MAXSORT system variable?

There is no header to click on in the pull down of the layer toolbar.
There is about 120 layers (our standard layers)
Maxsort is set at 1000.

Is that 120 layers including all the layers created by x-refs? I'd just try uping the max sort number. That usually dose it.

Thanks AUGers... MAXSORT did the trick. We had 120 layers live PLUS all those in xrefs.

We have been struggling for months, wondering why the layer sorting doesn't carry over from the layer manager dialog to the drop down.
MAXSORT solved it.
