Default Editing Surfaces using civil 3D 2006

Does any notice with their surfaces whether performing edits to the surface is very memory intensive. For example if I perform the swap edges command, and when I'm finished swaping edges, even though the contours had moved while I was doing this, that it would take quite a long time after finishing the command before I could go on to another type of edit like delete lines. Has this been improved in 2007? With a question like this, your probably thinking what speed is your computer. What video card? etc...
Well I'm using a 3.0 ghz computer with 1 gig of ram and a nvideo quadro pci - e series video card.

This may be related to the known memory leak in C3D. From what I understand this is being fixed in an upcoming service pack for 2007 but we won't know for sure until it is released.
