Default Formula format in Table when using the EAttExt command

I've been playing with this for hours trying to get it to work. I have a block with attributes for buildings on a site plan. The attributes in the block include square footage, and parking stalls provided. What I want to do is have a formula that will calculate the number of stalls per thousand square feet of retail space and place it into a table when I use the EatText command. I think the formula should be =PARKING_PROVIDED/(BLDG_SF/1000)

    What am I doing wrong?

I haven't gotten ANY replies. I have figured out that if I use the cell # in the formula, it works but I need to update the table before it works. My other snag is that even though I create a table style so my data is numbers, when I use the EAttExt command, it over rides that and puts my #'s into a text format. So I need to modify the column format in order for the formula's to work. The functionality just isn't there. And I need to add total rows also.
