Default Does an updated .MNU file automatically recompile once AutoCAD is re-started

Doesn't a "customized.mnu" suppost te be recompiled automatically when modified after restarting Autocad?

    maybe i must be clearer.

i have a additional mnu file.
each time a do a modification in that file i have to
    menuload
    unload
    load
    insert it into the menu...

shouldn't it be that when a mnu file is modified, it recompilated automatically when restarting autocad?

    Hi Johan.

With the old system you would delete the equivalent mnx file to ensure that the mnu file was recompiled. I don't play with the cui so I'm not sure what the equivalent is. Erase the partial cui file would be the obvious answer but not necessarily the correct one.

    johan,

You did not specify which version of AutoCAD you are requesting help on.

2006 and 2007 use a CUI for menu customization. If you want to update the CUI, you would need to edit the CUI file. It should automatically update in AutoCAD. If you are editing a MNU file for these versions, you would need to unload the equivalant CUI file and reload your newly edited MNU file.

For 2005 and older, I would think deleting the associated MNC file should have your MNU file recompiled. However, if I recall, the MNU would automatically recompile if it had a newer time stamp than the associated MNC file.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.

    it's 2005

    that's not the case actually

deleting the compiled ones creates new ones...

    thanks

It's been a while since I have messed with a MNU file.

Glad you got it to work.
