It's not a "bug", it's it there to prevent commercial use of an educational copy of AutoCAD.

Get rid of any drawings that have this stamp or it will spread like a virus (as you have seen).

In the future, DO NOT use content created in the EDU version of AutoCAD.

Yeah, I agree with this 100%. We also have this problem in the office that even if you are using a full licensed AutoCAD, and you copied just a single line from a drawing made in educational version, your drawings will also be 'contaminated' with the Educational plot stamp..FOREVER!!.

My friend found a workaround about this and I was surprised it worked.

Save as a .dxf file. Open the dxf file and the Educational stamp is gone. Then save back to dwg if you want to. Tested in AutoCAD 2005.

I was going to say the same thing. We had an outside client provide us a drawing created from an "Educational" version, and no matter what we did we couldn't get rid of the plot stamp. We ended up using "export to AutoCAD, 2004 dxf" and resaved it as a .dwg and that fixed it. I don't know what that does to ADT or AEC objects if they exist but it was just line work and blocks for this situation.

Quit using content created with educational versions of AutoCAD for commercial uses.
    That will solve it, guaranteed.
