    Unhappy Get the ADT.cui partially loaded over the ACAD.cui

    I've studied every post regarding CUI and I viewed all videos but I still can't figure out why I can't get the ADT.CUI partially loaded over the ACAD.CUI. I get it loaded as a partial but most of the functionality doesn't work! I get UNKNOWN COMMAND when I try to launch the Detail Component Manager.
    Any help would be appreciated,

    Have you added the support dir for that .cui in your search path?

    No. I'm not being defensive, but there was no mention of doing that in any of the videos or classes. Can you tell me how I would go about doing that? Thanks so much!

    I can tell you that the ADT.cui that I'm loading resides in the same place as the ACAD.cui..

    I know this is an old thread but I'm hoping someone will hear me....

    I'm having a similar problem with my CUI's
    I am planning on loading the CUI's as follows:
    -Custom as a copy of ACAD (main)
    -Office (Enterprise)
    --ADT
    --Express

    I try at first to get the ADT functionality loaded as a partial load to ACAD but I keep getting UNKNOWN COMMAND for most of the ADT functions! IE: Detail Component Manager
    I don't even know if my rationale for setting up our company standards will work in this architecture. I need help! I've viewed all the videos and classes on CUI and still, made copies so I don't muck up my original ACAD.cui and ADT.cui... but still I can't get anything to work as they say it should in the videos and classes!!!

    Thumbs down Re: Get the ADT.cui partially loaded over the ACAD.cui

    Thank you any way for your efforts, I appreciate your responses.

    I just received a response back from my Autodesk Subscription Technical assistance. And here's what they had to say.... I share this info in hopes that it prevents someone else from wasting hours in a futile attempt to load the 2 cui's like I have done!.

    "It is not a good idea to have both the acad and adt cui files loaded at the same time. The suggested way of achieving these results would be to have the adt.cui file as your main cui file, and then to bring in the aspects you want in the acad.cui file through the Transfer tab. "

    I'm off to try my hand at this suggestion....

    Are you also making copies of any MNL files with the same base filename?

    If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
    You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

    Hi "jcoleman.98851" ( Sorry, I do not know your real name )

    Please note I have *moved* this thread from the CAD Mgmt. General forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

    Hi "jcoleman.98851" ( Sorry, I do not know your real name )

    Please note I have split the below two posts from thread "Question about partial loading AutoDesk menus in an Office.CUI" and *merged* them into this thread.

    * Post 1

    * Post 2

    Why? - Your initial two posts ( different threads, different forums ) deal with exactly the same query / question. By keeping everything together that deals with your same issue / problem, makes using the forums a lot easier for everyone concerned.

    Below comes from the "AUGI Forum Guidelines - Forum Don'ts"...

    <snip>
    Do not post the same question to more than one Forum at a time. The term for this is "Cross-Forum Posting" which can be quite confusing and will complicate the Forum process. All but one of the posts will be deleted by the moderators.
    </snip>

    Thanks, Mike
