Default Unlock Map Stylization / MAPUICMDPICKSET

Anybody know if there is a system variable or other that can disable the MAPUICMDPICKSET command from executing. I know you can unlock the stylization by use of the little gold clock at the middle bottom of the window. I'm looking for a more automated method.

I have been irritated with that since January, after installing Map. As far as I know there is no variable or command line method of deactivating it. It is one of AutoDesk's "better ideas" like doing away with "cold" grips and the buttons on the status bar for toggling Osnap, Ortho and Polar. The popup sucks when you are in the middle of a command. It was much easier to just look and see whether they were active or not. The buttons are available in vanilla AutoCAD, but so far I have been unable to disover how to reinvoke them in Map.

To set the Autodesk Map 3D back to the default AutoCAD status bar do the
    following:

    1. Exit Autodesk Map 3D.
    2. Open the Windows Registry Editor.

Warning! Problems caused by improperly editing the Windows registry could
render your computer operating system unusable. Microsoft provides a wealth
of critical information that you need to know about the registry in the
    Microsoft Knowledge Base.

Use the Microsoft® Registry Editor only at your own risk and only after
backing up the registry as well as the system.dat and user.dat files as
outlined for your operating system in the Microsoft Knowledge Base and in
    the related Autodesk solution,
    http://support.autodesk.com/getdoc.asp?id=TS66513. Additional information
about the registry is also contained in the Help topics in the Microsoft
    Registry Editor.

    3. Go to
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R17.0\ACAD-5002yz\Application s\AcMap
(where xyz are numbers and characters that vary depending on the installed
language version of Autodesk Map 3D).
    4. Select AcMap and do a right click > New > DWORD Value.
    5. Rename the newly created value to Statusbar.
    6. As value enter 0.
    7. Exit the Windows Registry Editor and launch Map.

To load the Autodesk Map 3D status bar instead of the AutoCAD one, set the
    Statusbar value to 1.

Note: You can't switch between the Autodesk Map 3D and AutoCAD status bar on
the fly when Autodesk Map 3D is running.

POSTED many times in here BTW.
