Question Export AutoCAD Objects to Photoshop and keep Wipeout properties

Hi, i have a drawing with many wipeouts in it. i need a sheet with some general bitmap under all elements (in AutoCAD or some other graphical program (Photoshop)), but all exports make a nontransparent wipeout objects. is there some tip to hold wipeout properties to cover AutoCAD objects, but to have an transparent background of it after exporting? (to not have a white color behind wipeout object for example in eps file?) Thanks.

    1. Wipeouts;Did you mean Raster images?
    2. Under all Elements; If you want a bitmap under all elements, you might not need it to be transparent. Just use DRAWORDER command, and Back
    3. Transparent background.
    Command TRANSPARENCY.
On=Turns transparency on so that objects beneath the image are visible.
Off =Turns transparency off so that objects beneath the image are not visible

I've tried this on Transparent GIF, it works. Transparent PNG-doesn't work. EPS, cannot be loaded. (AutoCAD 2005, dont know with higher versions).

instead of exporting, have you tried creating a raster printer and just plotting the file to BMP. I prefer png as it seems to have higher quality with smaller files sizes. I believe you can use the add a plotter wizard and follow the prompts

Thats right. We don't export here. We set up a Postscript printer that will print to file and EPS will be the extension name. EPS file made from a Postscript printer is transparent. I don't know how you can plot it to BMP, all I know is the BMPOUT or same as exporting to BMP which I do NOT recommend. Exported BMP as far as I know does not support antialiasing. Same goes with Publish to JPG, maybe supports antialiasing but I can not control the compression. Image seems dirty when zoomed. I'm satisfied with EPS format. This is a vector-based format (same as wmf), that when imported to Photoshop have the option to turn antialiasing on or off.

Thanks for all advices. i used 1 bit bmp file, but have a problem with printing at AutoCAD 2007. In preview, everything is ok, but after plotting, bitmap is not transparent although image is set to be transparent. when i open the file in AutoCAD 2005, plotting is ok. Does anybody know, where is the problem?

    and another questions:
i tried to use tiff file, made by conversion from eps in photoshop, but i always got a message, that file is not valid. other tif files, made directly at photoshop, or plotted as tif from AutoCAD are valid. Where is the problem?

Finally, i used two bitmaps, i did, what i wanted, but i can imagine some export or conversion, what is a vector and will make simple linework from Acad drawing, directly as i see it with clipped xrefs, blocks, wipeouts, but without this objects, just pure lines. Doesn't it exist? Thanks

If I remember correctly, 1-bit (b & w) images cannot have transparency - try converting to an 8-bit (or higher) image).
