    Default DWG / Block thumbnail images in Windows Explorer or Design Center

    Group;

    I would like to be able to see a thumbnail image of all my drawing files, especially the older ones. It seems that I have to open and save every single drawing file; so that it will create this thumbnail image file. I tried the DWG converter; but it doesn’t create one for you when you’re updating them to a newer version.

    For instance I would like to see my Julius Blum blocks in Windows Explorer or AutoCAD’s Design center.

    Have any of you already updated all the Blum blocks and can share these blocks with me? If not what is the best way to do this? Can I create a script or a macro to do this?

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    A scipt/macro that will open multiple drawings and save it to newer format is possible. But before this, Have you tried browsing the drawings in Design Center, Right click the File List and Click Create Tool Palette of Blocks?

    After this, you dont need to open Windows Explorer and see the previews, Its all in your very much accessible Tool Palettes, preview + drawing name.

    Have a look here for a free add-on. When you right click on a dwg, it shows you a preview.
    Also there is another program which works for all kind of files not just autocad. You can find it here
    I hope the above help.
    Thanks,
