How to set-up style based pen types-

I don't know if this is where this thread should be, but I am looking for somebody that knows how to set-up style based pen types verses colored-base. I am using LDD 2007, not vanilla. We are going to be switching to Civil 3D shortly. If anybody can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it!
