I am using some of the free AU2003 handouts that I got off this site and some tutorials from the AutoDesk website to figure out how grading objects work.

My site is a 9 acre site, quite literally on the side of a mountain. Three sides of each lot will be retained, with at least one side with double retaining walls.

I have created, so far, two grading objects: one for the pad, which includes two retaining walls for the adjacent pads, and one object which is the double retaining walls.

I don't quite get how this works. I can't join my two grading objects, but unless I make a VERY long 3dpolyline, I won't be able to assign elevations to the points that I need, and still make my double-wall join to my existing surface.

Is this what I do? Do I make one long, continuous 3d pline, assigned the elevations that I need to, then create my grading object off of that?

Thank you for any assistance.
