Unhappy Image not visible in AutoCAD 2007, but is in 2006

I have opened a ACAD 2006 file in my recently installed ACAD 2007. I have an image file of our logo insert into the file. It is visible in 2006 but not on the 2007 instance. The image management dialogue box in 2006 has visible "yes" in 2007 it has visible "no". Why is the image not visible in 2007 and/or how can I make it visible? This is the first difference I've seen and am quite surprised. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I'm not sure why that happens (I can't replicate the problem here), but can you select the image in 2007 and in properties put a yes in show image?

    Hi "gary_pritchard"

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD 2007 3D forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

    Hi

If possible could you please post the DWG file and Image file in question, so we may take a look at the issue / problem first-hand...

    Have a good one, Mike

The image file is a tif file and I could not upload. The tif image file seems to be a valid file in 2006 but when attempting to load in 2007 is for some reason not a valid file format. If this is the case, why?

Has the image been through any other software? Some programs (ESRI GIS in particular) save tiff images with information in the header section that AutoCAD doesn't like. I have been able to access them by first loading them into a paint program and resaving from there.

A great BIG THANK YOU! This image file was saved within Corel Photo Paint. I saved in Microsoft "Paint" and inserted into AutoCAD 2007 without any problems. Thanks again for your help & quick response and another resolution through AUGI Forums.

Still don't understand the different results with 2006 versus 2007 but I am satisfied with the resolution and fix to get my project moving forward.

Funny, I have sometimes used PhotoPaint to do the repair - but since you mentioned it I remembered something. Tiff files can have layers, and I read somewhere that AutoCAD doesn't like layered tiffs.

In PhotoPaint, "layers" are "objects", and you should be OK if you do the "merge all objects with background" command before saving. (This may not be true with the latest version, I still have Corel 12.)
